Eli S. Chesen, M.D. is a private practicing Board Certified psychiatrist specializing in the pharmacologic treatment of adolescents and adults with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, panic, attention deficit disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, sleep disturbances, eating disorders and other related problems.Dr. Chesen is highly experienced in performing Independent Medical Examinations (IME’s), which include the evaluation of psychiatric and neurological claims.
Dr. Chesen was born and raised in Sioux City, Iowa, graduated from The University of Nebraska College of Medicine and did his Internship and residency at Good Samaritan Hospital, Phoenix. He served in The United States Air Force (Nellis AFB, rank Major) with an Honorable Discharge. He has been an examiner for The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has practiced psychiatry in Lincoln since 1975. Philosophy: “I approach psychiatry foremost as a medical science, closely allied with neurology. I treat problems, which typically have a genetic basis, while I recognize that life situational influences play a substantial role as well. While I do not believe that everyone I see necessarily requires medication, pharmacology is my specialty.”
